Jun. 19th, 2009 06:54 pm So, if a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush...

...how many birds in the window is it worth?

Yeah, one just flew into my back door. Looked okay, if a little dazed. Sort of funny - I just glimpse out of the corner of my eye something through the curtains, hear "THUD," and look outside to see a cute little sparrow on the deck, probably thinking "what the bird-heck kind of forcefield do those things have?!"

Oh, and...SCHOOL'S OVER AND I DON'T HAVE TO DO MORE FINALS! WHOO! :DDDD

They've never gotten the chance to! I always wear green. Although *I* will be on the lookout for anyone green-less.

Feb. 18th, 2009 07:23 pm Okay, possibly the funniest movie I've ever seen confirmed...

...is "Pride and Predator."

Yes. As in Jane Austen and Human-Hunting-Alien. BEST CROSSOVER EVER!

I am not making this up, I swear! http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118000187.html?categoryid=13&cs=1

Admit it, you would go see it just to laugh. I know I will!

Feb. 4th, 2009 07:18 pm I hate listening to this...

"This" here means my mother's radio program. I forget exactly who is on it, but it seems mainly to be talking about everything bad ever about Democrats. I'm sick of it. I hate politics.

*sigh*And this is going to go on for the next four years at least. would I be convicted of destruction of property if I got a bat and smashed it now?

Jan. 19th, 2009 09:11 pm I. Hate. Rockbox.

So, my friend gets the need to put this program on my iPod. I don't really get a say in it, but fine, whatever.

It turns out that Rockbox does not keep your playlists, does not work with my iHome(there is NO POINT in having one if it can't be connected to music!) and is insanely, stupidly hard to stop from loading. I reset my iPod about five times and the battery died and I WANT IT OFF NOW AND I CAN'T FIND THE FILES I NEED TO DELETE!

needless to say, I am NOT HAPPY.

Jan. 18th, 2009 07:49 pm I have learned why Civilization is so awesome.

My brother bought it, I started playing it and got hit hard with the Tetris Effect. Beating up those irritating people who decide "oh, we signed a treaty? screw it, DIE!" when they send Legions in and I send out Ninja Tank Armies(one of the funnier names in the game, seriously)? Awesome. Also, Gandhi - fricking GANDHI! - declaring war on me was the funniest thing in that. However, certain warlike nations are irritating once you lose the Great Wall's effectiveness. I try to make peaceful victories(I let India live once and got a Cultural victory), really I do! It's not my fault they break their treaties and I get forced to crush them!

Also, catapults and cannons = irritatingly weak defense. I can beat up archers and such with them, but one hit, even to a cannon, and they're down. Artillery's just as annoying, but much, much better when you get three. Spies are also fun to play with. I have yet to send a Spy Ring into somewhere, but I think it will be China. They keep trying to kill me. And maybe nuke them after if they're really bad. That has a good animation.

It's kinda funny to have a leader telling you you'll be hated worldwide for using the nuke when they're the only civilization left, too.

The world is MINE!

Jan. 1st, 2009 11:40 am You know those "creepy haunted doll" movies?

You know, the ones with the living, talking doll that ends up driving the person crazy and/or causing their/the doll's death/destruction? Just a random little thought: what exactly would happen if the person who got stuck with the doll didn't freak out and was nice to the doll? Would it all turn out okay?

Yes, my brain goes in weird places when it wanders.

(I haven't actually *seen* any of those movies. I have too many toys still to have my imagination go nuts with them)

Dec. 19th, 2008 03:42 pm dammit, school officials.

Was it REALLY necessary to keep us all day when it was snowing for five hours and our district was the only one open? Did it not occur to you that the upperclassmen who drive don't want ice and snow and slush under their tires?

(obviously, I am not included, but it was dumb.)

On a semi-related note, snow crunches oh-so-much more satisfyingly under your shoes than slush.

Also, yet more hate for my bio teacher. There is NO need whatsoever to give your innocent class two pages to write on the cell cycle and DNA replication when it's the weekend and snowing.

*sigh*my term paper is due on the fifth and I haven't even finished the outline. procrastination sucks.

On a considerably lighter note, yesterday was Holiday Express. I danced with the Grinch! =D They should put that song on a CD, it's excellent. Still wish they'd sung Home For The Holidays. Went to a nice restaurant before the show, too.

Nov. 24th, 2008 03:57 pm *still needs a happy icon*

*curls up, purrs* Today was a good day. ^^ I found that one of my middle-school friends shares my opinion on Twilight and on certain books(The Sight ftw!), argued about it with a classmate, and had a cupcake after school! The dance team sold them to fundraise, so I dug a dollar out and bought myself and my friend one. Very, very, very good.

What gifts, big or small, are you hoping to find under the tree this year?

Number one is definitely a TFA Prowl. I want it so much, buuut I'm not sure about it, considering it'll be a hot toy this year, I bet. In fact, more than half my list can be summed up with "TFA toys." I also want WALL-E, because, c'mon. Cute little pitiful robot with a fondness for show tunes? Yeah, gotta have that. I've heard good things about both His Majesty's Dragon and Discworld, so I'm hoping for those.

If school counts...I have books. Many. And when I get my work done early(whee for simple geometry about triangles and calculating angles - so far, anyway), I pull on out. Lately it's Oliver Twist, when I finish that I want to get to work on our school copy of Great Expectations(I like finishing school books early. Where The Red Fern Grows nearly made me cry at the back table. D: It helps that if we have to read aloud in school, it goes mind-numbingly sloooow and I've finished the page before the reader's done with a paragraph, so I read further and keep a finger where it should be in case I get called on. No, it doesn't always work,) and then maybe finish Specials again. Oh, and there's still Twelve Days of Terror in my backpack...And if my books run out, I have my emergency fic notebook. If all else fails...mindstories. Also a handy outlet for when you have something you love but know is terribly Sue/stupid and don't dare share it! :D

Oct. 16th, 2008 04:15 pm Tests - do not want.

Not that I usually have a problem with them, I don't mind, I'm a good student, if I do say so myself.

But when my Lab Bio teacher thinks we can ALL do 50 multiple choice questions and three essays in about 40 minutes...no.

MC questions I can do, one essay, two at a stretch, but three? No, not if I want to check my work over.

His response the first test when we protested having to do both essays and the 50 questions, his only response was to stay after the bell.

I was late for chorus.  It pisses me off - some of us work slowly! At least give us a little time the next day to finish! Ten minutes is all I ask, honestly.

*sigh*

I'm really not pleased. I would like the class with a different teacher, one that was less boring.

Sep. 15th, 2008 03:50 pm Crickets! And other school-related things.

Who pissed off God and made him set a plague of crickets on the Jersey Shore?

Well, okay, exaggeration, but seriously. Math class last week, a cricket that scared my teacher and today one that chirped along with the lesson on polygons. In gym for at least a week and a half, one chirping near the locker rooms. And right now, for at least half an hour. It's weird.

Anyway, school!

It's less terrifying than it seems when you walk in. After your first week or so, you get used to it. And there's a courtyard I use to cross from the 600 wing to the 400(or vice versa), because otherwise it takes a lot of the five minutes I have. 3 lates to class = cut = detention, 9 = no course credit for you, go sit in the bad kid room. I have my bearings now, at least. If I don't have a class in or near it, I couldn't direct you to a room, though.

Speech and Debate is going to be a fun club. I'm going with Poetry and Prose(woo!) and Duo with my friend(he insists on Boot to the Head, the little addict), probably.

Missed Environmental Club meeting. I had S&D. I guess I won't be saving the whales this year.

I like my teachers. My Italian teacher is nice, my Geometry teacher...eh, not bad, my Reading teachers are fun - one likes to shout and scares a lot of kids(so far, he hasn't scared me yet, summer theater and the random loud mike screeches conditioned me a little) and the other plays devil's advocate for a conformist society. My Bio teacher's pretty nice, Home Ec is nice too, and my History teacher is fun. Basically, he tells stories to illustrate points, and if he pulls the textbook out of the door to close it, you know it's gonna be good. One was a story about him in religious ed and their teacher told them about a boy and girl who had sex, got the car stuck on the train tracks, and the girl got killed and the teacher was shouting about how she's going to hell for having premarital sex(seems a little harsh, God, she was in high school), one was about a kid being screamed at in religious ed for spitting on his cross(these were illustrating some point or other about Christianity), today's were about Confucious having said that respect for parents is above all else and one was about a girl who called her mother a bitch during a parent conference, the mom just bawled, and the vice principal told the girl off for it and made her apologize. The other was a kid who got told off by his dad for something or other, went outside to play, flipped the dad off, and got caught and screamed at. It's interesting.

Sep. 8th, 2008 03:19 pm These are a few of my favorite things...

Tagged by [info]cubicality

The rules are easy, just post 10 things that recently made you happy! Then tag 10 people and ask them nicely to post this meme on their LJs. Because it is good. Everyone needs a little happiness once in a while.

1. The promise of a trip to Walmart soon so I can buy shiny new TFA toys! Eee, Prowl and Jazz, want...
2.  Seeing shinies like a ZR1 and a 350Z.
3. Sorting out my locker schedule for school and finding out what way I need to go to get there.
4. Watching Batman: The Movie(yes, with Adam West and the "Pow!"s and "Biff!"s on the screen) and laughing until I couldn't breathe.
5. Tetris.
6. Finally catching an old IM RP buddy online to talk to her.
7. Playing Castle Crashers with two friends with much teasing and "you killed me! you suck!" all around.
8. Finally being able to sing Pork and Beans from memory.
9. Learning that for a few days it will be my brother and me here without parents to tell me not to eat too much junk(woohoo!)
10. A new shape puzzle to play with.

I tag...[info]azysapphy ,[info]nova_myth , and, uh...

x.x I think the rest of the tag-able on my list have already been tagged. I fail. XD
