The Journal of My Fangirlyness

| Jan. 20th, 2010 08:55 pm I don't think I want a new betta... Two since the summer. This is not good. I need to look for hardier fish that won't die after a few months.
Admittedly, I should have realized that they don't live long, what with the living in a tiny cup until they're bought and the usual state of their poor fins and all.
I would like to know what that stuff was on Blitzwing's neck, though. Some kind of fungus? Current Mood: *sigh*

Jan. 19th, 2010 06:58 am Writer's Block: Rotten tomatoes
New Moon. My cousins demanded I go see it with them, and since I hadn't spent time with them in a while, I agreed in order to hang out with them. I sat through it, obviously, because they were my ride and I wasn't going anywhere until it was over. It was bad because, well...no one has any personality outside of their love life, Edward is a borderline-abusive stalker, Bella is a doormat and a moron, and Jacob...well, he's a jerkass. At least the other bad movies I saw were all amusingly bad/entertaining(Point Break, Revenge of the Fallen) I could, however, spend the movie silently mocking everyone. And there were no screaming teenage girls shrieking for their undead male of choice.
Incidentally, Edward looks sick minus his shirt. Like, literally sickly. And he has dead eyes and few facial expressions. I really can't see what five million of my peers see there.Current Mood: blah Current Music: Bouncing Off the Walls - Sugarcult

Dec. 24th, 2009 11:44 am Writer's Block: Tonight, tonight
Today isn't really when we do our celebrating. My family and brother's girlfriend will just kinda be hanging out here eating snacks, then my dad will read The Night Before Christmas(it's a tradition and I don't care if it sounds childish) and then I will go to sleep and wait for seven o'clock tomorrow to get everyone up to open presents.Current Mood: Unable to believe it Current Music: Parade of the Wooden Soldiers - Harry Connick, Jr.

Dec. 11th, 2009 04:56 pm Writer's Block: My Favorite Movie Quote
I think most of my favorites are one-liners.
"Let off some steam, Bennett!" may be the first, although that's a really, really tough choice to make. "GET TO DA CHOPPA!" and "Remember when I said I'd kill you last? I lied." are also some fun ones. "Freedom is the right of all sentient beings" too.Current Music: Christmas music.

Nov. 29th, 2009 11:24 am Writer's Block: Tinsel town
Yep. The time frame is usually a couple days after Thanksgiving to a little after Christmas(for specifically Christmas ones - ceramic Santas and such) and New Year's for the lights. And we get a tree sometime in December to decorate. Always with colored lights and a star, to my mother's annoyance.Current Location: The couch Current Mood: kinda sick Current Music: I Will Not Bow - Breaking Benjamin

| Oct. 12th, 2009 07:10 pm Laptop is working again~...sort of. It's on life support, really. Flash drive containing OS, USB wireless thing, separate keyboard, no internal speakers. Only the first two pose any major problems, though. I have to persuade my parents to buy an external hard drive(but there's always the iTunes trump card - wouldn't want to lose all my expensive music, right?) and a USB wireless card. I have an extra mouse my friend gave me, and keyboard he's lending till he gets the one I gave him back(as soon as someone else gets their own), and I have headphones I can use. So, I am in a good mood! Current Location: Home Current Mood: cheerful Current Music: Phoenix Wright theme music(of some sort)

Oct. 2nd, 2009 06:34 am Writer's Block: Life is a masquerade
Ha, I'm dressing up for candy until I can't get away with trick-or-treating anymore. XD As the Merchant, no less. It depends on the costume, I've been planning to be the Merchant since...last November. But sometimes the simpler stuff, like a witch or things like that, I leave for October. And I basically tell everyone who asks. Or sometimes bring it up myself. :)Current Mood: Whaddaya buyin'?

Sep. 14th, 2009 02:47 pm Writer's Block: My Dream Job
As childish as it probably sounds, my entire life I've wanted to be a vet. Well, okay, not the whole thing, but it was all related to caring for animals. I think I have a shot at it, the only problem being that Jersey is lame in the vet-school area and has none. I can try Massachusetts, though, and if I spend a few years living there and keep up my good grades, I think I can do it.Current Mood: hot Current Music: For Whom The Bell Tolls - Metallica

| Jul. 27th, 2009 06:15 am Today, the icon means *me*. Because somehow I was stupid enough to not pay attention to where I put my drink and knocked it all over my laptop. Some connector with the hard drive apparently shorted out and my dad doesn't want to send it out for repairs because they'd cost nearly as much as the laptop and we never got accidental damage coverage(Murphy's Law in action). So, he's instead going to a friend - who won't even be home to work on it until the end of the week. D:
In the meantime, I can use my parent's laptop, but not the IM, so...Nova, if you need me, email me.
On the bright side...I have a pretty betta! His name is Optimus, and the second I saw those blue and red scales I had to have him. Or the turquiose one a shelf above him, he would have been Blurr. Current Location: Home Current Mood: indifferent

| Jun. 19th, 2009 06:54 pm So, if a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush... ...how many birds in the window is it worth?
Yeah, one just flew into my back door. Looked okay, if a little dazed. Sort of funny - I just glimpse out of the corner of my eye something through the curtains, hear "THUD," and look outside to see a cute little sparrow on the deck, probably thinking "what the bird-heck kind of forcefield do those things have?!"
Oh, and...SCHOOL'S OVER AND I DON'T HAVE TO DO MORE FINALS! WHOO! :DDDD Current Location: Home, and planning to stay there for a while! Current Mood: ecstatic Current Music: Larger Than Life - Backstreet Boys

| Feb. 18th, 2009 07:23 pm Okay, possibly the funniest movie I've ever seen confirmed... ...is "Pride and Predator."
Yes. As in Jane Austen and Human-Hunting-Alien. BEST CROSSOVER EVER!
I am not making this up, I swear! http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118000187.html?categoryid=13&cs=1

| Feb. 4th, 2009 07:18 pm I hate listening to this... "This" here means my mother's radio program. I forget exactly who is on it, but it seems mainly to be talking about everything bad ever about Democrats. I'm sick of it. I hate politics.
*sigh*And this is going to go on for the next four years at least. would I be convicted of destruction of property if I got a bat and smashed it now? Current Mood: gah. Current Music: Under the Rose - H.I.M

| Jan. 19th, 2009 09:11 pm I. Hate. Rockbox. So, my friend gets the need to put this program on my iPod. I don't really get a say in it, but fine, whatever.
It turns out that Rockbox does not keep your playlists, does not work with my iHome(there is NO POINT in having one if it can't be connected to music!) and is insanely, stupidly hard to stop from loading. I reset my iPod about five times and the battery died and I WANT IT OFF NOW AND I CAN'T FIND THE FILES I NEED TO DELETE!
needless to say, I am NOT HAPPY. Current Mood: pissed off

| Jan. 18th, 2009 07:49 pm I have learned why Civilization is so awesome. My brother bought it, I started playing it and got hit hard with the Tetris Effect. Beating up those irritating people who decide "oh, we signed a treaty? screw it, DIE!" when they send Legions in and I send out Ninja Tank Armies(one of the funnier names in the game, seriously)? Awesome. Also, Gandhi - fricking GANDHI! - declaring war on me was the funniest thing in that. However, certain warlike nations are irritating once you lose the Great Wall's effectiveness. I try to make peaceful victories(I let India live once and got a Cultural victory), really I do! It's not my fault they break their treaties and I get forced to crush them!
Also, catapults and cannons = irritatingly weak defense. I can beat up archers and such with them, but one hit, even to a cannon, and they're down. Artillery's just as annoying, but much, much better when you get three. Spies are also fun to play with. I have yet to send a Spy Ring into somewhere, but I think it will be China. They keep trying to kill me. And maybe nuke them after if they're really bad. That has a good animation.
It's kinda funny to have a leader telling you you'll be hated worldwide for using the nuke when they're the only civilization left, too.
The world is MINE! Current Mood: megalomaniacal Current Music: So What - Pink

| Jan. 1st, 2009 11:40 am You know those "creepy haunted doll" movies? You know, the ones with the living, talking doll that ends up driving the person crazy and/or causing their/the doll's death/destruction? Just a random little thought: what exactly would happen if the person who got stuck with the doll didn't freak out and was nice to the doll? Would it all turn out okay?
Yes, my brain goes in weird places when it wanders.
(I haven't actually *seen* any of those movies. I have too many toys still to have my imagination go nuts with them) Current Mood: intrigued Current Music: Creepy Doll - Jonathan Coulton

| Dec. 19th, 2008 03:42 pm dammit, school officials. Was it REALLY necessary to keep us all day when it was snowing for five hours and our district was the only one open? Did it not occur to you that the upperclassmen who drive don't want ice and snow and slush under their tires?
(obviously, I am not included, but it was dumb.) On a semi-related note, snow crunches oh-so-much more satisfyingly under your shoes than slush.
Also, yet more hate for my bio teacher. There is NO need whatsoever to give your innocent class two pages to write on the cell cycle and DNA replication when it's the weekend and snowing.
*sigh*my term paper is due on the fifth and I haven't even finished the outline. procrastination sucks.
On a considerably lighter note, yesterday was Holiday Express. I danced with the Grinch! =D They should put that song on a CD, it's excellent. Still wish they'd sung Home For The Holidays. Went to a nice restaurant before the show, too. Current Location: Home Current Mood: drained Current Music: When My Heart Finds Christmas - Harry Connick Jr.
